Thoughts Beside The Water

--by D.H. Franklin

Hark!

Listen to the water
As it gently laps against the shore,
Teasing, taunting,
Come with me; share my joy
The world awaits our song of communion.
The breeze whispers in my ear
Then roars, when it feels I do not listen.
Why sit you on the shore yearning, hoping?
What foolish thoughts keep you from your destiny?
You are free to be; you are free to live;
You are free to love.
Feel my gentle touch as I caress your being
Is this not the touch of a lover?
Does the water not gently kiss the shore,
Changing it with each tender caress?
Mankind seeks love where love does not exist.
He knows not the gentle rhythms of a lover's ways.
Love is never constant;
It ebbs and flows like the rhythm of Nature.
Let Nature teach you of love.
Let it flow through your being on waves of ecstasy.
Open your heart to its kiss
And let its gentle rhythm lead you to your dreams.
Fret not
You are one with us.
You belong to Nature as Nature belongs to you.
Although our voice is subtle,
Still we speak clearly to those
Who would listen and understand.
Listen to our gentle murmurings of love.
Join in our dance and reclaim your heritage.
Let not your fears keep you from what is rightfully yours.
Listen, feel, experience the joy that surrounds you.
Merge with us; meld with us.
Become one with us.
Then like the seagull,
Soar upwards upon the currents of our love
To heights that await your presence
To joy that is your due
To oneness, that is All.
