Omar: (Nov.87) "As Seth readers were informed there are many different types or families of human consciousness, and each group has its own qualities, characteristics, and attributes. Examples were given in the Seth books, and excellent methods used to describe them."

"Because Seth identified Jane Roberts and Rob as belonging to the Sumari family of consciousness, their admirers wish to be Sumari too. Some of those devotees happily identify and proclaim themselves as such, while still others feel somewhat left out, not knowing to which of the many different families they may belong. Here it is not that some individuals imagine themselves to be unhappy with the family of consciousness to which they seemingly belong, rather they wish to be psychic relatives or kinsmen with those individuals they most admire, and that can be easily arraigned. You have access to Sumari because alterations of consciousness can occur; you can learn to center yourself within other spheres of intent."

"It's not as if one must have been born into a particular family of consciousness to be part of it, You need not have been a member all along, and you can join other families if you wish. It is not as if you change your citizenship. It is not a choice of being one or another so much as you can be all those things. You never need give up something as you become more that what you were--as you begin to express other portions of your inner self. The inner self knows itself; and the inner self also knows it is not limited to expressing itself in any particular way."

"The family of consciousness to which you belong became yours through psychological personality traits which you yourself purposefully chose, in an unconsciousness fashion, from a vast assortment of inner resources provided by the inner or whole self entity of which you are now a part. You were not born into that family or category of consciousness so much as it was born into you, called upon by you, and this does not mean you have made an indelible choice, because the psychic traites of all other classifications, or families, are latent within you now. If you wish to be Sumari, then so be it. There are no limits or barriars to growth and progress except those you erect yourself. You are never denied access to any pathway leading to fulfillment and here you can also join with any family if you wish."

"Each family grouping, or psychic affiliation, remains within the overall objectives or purpose of the species and there is no great diversity. All are vital and all contribute towards the progression of the species as a whole. There is no wasted motion or effort or incongruous qualities among them. You will find more dissimilarity between cells of various organs within your physical body than between families of consciousness. Yet like cells each is vital as each is part of the same body. The universe does not work against itself."

"Think of the Sumari or any other such classification not as a place or tribe nor an era or an age -- it is a state of mind and feelings alone will take you there. You are what you consider yourself to be, so consider yourself to be that which you find most desirable, most important to you at this time. Later, as you develop, at certain depths, your desires will change and you will become other things."

"The introduction to various families of consciousness was provided by Seth in basic human terms in order that your thoughts be prompted along those lines. However, there is much more involved here. Also not all family groupings were mentioned because they are many which have passed beyond or now reside outside of the physically focused view--outside of framework 1 which you now call home. In all cases there are differing inner relationships, contours of conscious pursuits, while maintaining a cooperative nature, ever adding to the greatness of All-That-Is as they work to propel all forms of consciousness towards experience in all directions. It is an on-going self fulfilling process that can be found on all levels or planes of existance."

"The passion for knowing leads to knowing, the desire to belong leads to belonging too. The longing to be leads to existence -- all existence, and that is the eternal driving force of the universe. Stars come into existence through intent, and solar systems come into existence through mutual intent; they form a family. When You think in terms of families of consciousness also think in terms of categories of purpose or overall conscious intent because there are no closer ties than this. That is the glue that binds you to All-That-Is! There are species of consciousness and various inner organizations within each of them that are called families, and each strives for greater accomplishments."

"Because all experience is latent within consciousness, consciousness is driven toward all possible variations of expression working from an infinite yet collective base. The extent of your involvement within a particular complex or organizational family structure depends upon the intensity and concentration of the focus personality upon those activities and the affiliations which you are experiencing now may not necessarily be the same ones you were involved with in the past nor the ones you associate with in the future. This is to say you may well have switched associations many times somewhere along the way, yet the basic self blueprint is always maintained."

"Each individual is constantly and forever surrounded by influences, and effected by events, yet no two individuals ever experience in the same order the exact same events. This is true for all forms of consciousness. Since all experience is relative to the observer, and because the observer creates, moment by moment, that experience, those events consciousness provides itself with a constant variety of experiences to choose from. It is a constant, and you can think of it as the rule of constant change or psychic motion. For that reason you are not the exact same person today that you were yesterday as you are within the constant state of forever becoming more than what you were."

"The physical effects of aging, while it may be seen be a setback to physical abilities and the physical focus of an individual consciousness, is in no way a detriment to psychological growth nor does it take away any achievements, gains, or advancements won by the inner self during a particular lifetime. There are no lasting harmful effects caused by the aging process beyond a particular life time and the process of physical aging provides the inner self with vital new understanding and experiences that can be had in no other way. Affiliations with various families of consciousness has lasting benefit and effect within the whole or inner self and is important for growth which extends beyond any single life time."
