Tripcilities actually means element. There are 4 elements, fire, earth, air and water. Every element have sign have a different meaning and will effect your compatibility with other people. Please note that the following sections are people which are mainly fire, earth, air or water not their sun signs only. This depends on your individual chart.

Fire Signs: Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Fire sign people are optimists who have faith in the future. They are intuitive, often appearing to jump to conclusions. They are friendly, generous and youthful but can be quick-tempered and irriatable. All fire-sign people have the ability to begin large enterprises but may be less able to finish what they start or to handle details.

Earth Signs: Taurus, Virgo, Capricorn

Earth sign people are careful, sensible, tenacious, reliable and conventional. They hate to give up anything, and may be materialistic. These people are mature in outlook but may be fussy or slow when tackling tasks and they can be selfish.

Air Signs: Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

This is the least emotional of all elements, relying on knowledge and logic to work things out. Air subjects are intelligent, interested in everything and able to pick up and pass on knowledge as aresult of being in the swim ad among people. Too much emotion exhausts them and too much routine bores them.

Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces

The water element makes for sensitivity. Therefore, water people are likely to be iritated by loud or discordant noises and upset by pain and illness. They are sensitive to atmosphere and very wary of anything which can constitute a threat. They are kind and helpful because they are sensitive to the suffering and pain of others. However many of them are more tuned in to the needs of animals than humans. Water people move and react slowly and may seem rather stupid to other, quicker types but this is a mistaken assumption because they are extremely shrewd and well aware of everything that is going on.

So we arrived at the topic, quadruplicities. Some books call it quality. There are three quadruplicities, Cardinal, Fixed and Mutable. Let's look at it deeper.The following characteristics are for sun, rising or overall influence on the chart.

Cardinal:
Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricon

Cardinal people like to take their own decision and can be quite stubborn and determined. They are ambitous, either for themselves or for their families, and are not easily pushed around. Some are very powerful and competitive personalities. Many special Ariens and Capriconians, reach executive positions and are very adroit politically, in addition to being a little manupulative if it helps them to get their objectives.

Fixed:
Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius

Fixed peoplr like to stay put, remaining in the same house, the same job and the same relationship for years. They find it hard to think on their feet or adapt to changing circumstances. Most fixed sign people will see through to the end and they find it difficult to make any kind of freash start. Their opinions may also be fixed.

Mutable:
Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, Pisces

This word may seem strange to you but if you think of transmute, commute or mutate you will see that it concerns moving something from one place to another or one state to another. Mutable people, therefore, are flexible in their attitude, disliking too much routine and needing change. They may take up too many interests, finding it difficult to finish any of them. However, they are able to fit into most situations and to make themselves comfortable even when permanently on the move.
