These gifs are of my own creation,
all rights are reserved,
and you can't have them.
At least not yet.
"And why not yet?"
Well, look at them,
you would hardly say they are finished,
would you?
It has taken around and hour and a half
of dedicated work
conceive them,
draw them,
and convert them to gifs.
As I write this
I am for the first time
looking at
all my images at once.

Hey, they're not that bad after all.
It is true when I say that I
drew and converted these images
in less than two hours.
But actually,
they have developed from doodles
over something like half a year.
For instance,
the bishop
started out as a (diagonal) cross
to indicate its way of movement;
later the present, closed form
which allows filling in with black.
My pieces are excellent for quick
pencil and paper notation
of chess board positions.
Of course you may use my design in that way
as you may use Times or Helvetica in your handwriting.
That is private use.
You should
use an all-white 8x8 board,
not black-and-white fields,
or at least the "black" fields
should be grey or light colour.
Black pieces are just filled in.
Pawns are triangular of shape,
each corner of 60 degrees.
Bishops
can take pieces like pawns do,
they work well with pawns,
hence the form with two triangles.
(Sometimes they are like "fat pawns",
if imprisoned behind their friendly lines.)
They are easy to draw,
a Z,
one more line from bottom right to top left,
fill in if black.
I think I will clear up the crowns
of the black king and queen
in a future electronic version.
Rooks are not complicated.
Knights are.
Knights are assymmetric :)
I love the knights.
They are the jokers of this game.
Have fun!
Sincerely,
Mike L. Griebel
