CALVA

This is about all that remains of the community once called Calva, on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. I know of only one family that lives there now, near this old structure. Calva is about 20 miles upstream on the Gila River from Old San Carlos. There was a Sub-Agency of the old San Carlos Agency located here in the late 19th century. It figured in several important historic incidents.
