PINAL MOUNTAINS 4

Pinal 4

This view is from the top of Signal Peak (named for a Heliograph Tower later built by General Nelson Miles's troops) to the south side of the Pinals. This rugged country was home to the Kewevkapaya band of Yavapai--the band of Hoo-moo-thy-ah (Mike Burns). It was also the location of the stagecoach robbery perpetrated by Pearl Hart (1899), and also the Apache Kid breakout for freedom in 1889.
