Preparing for a Big Auction

October 3, 2005

The past few weeks I have been spending most of my evenings working on a web-based photo gallery to help advertise a silent auction the D.C. chapter of the Asian American Journalists Association will be having in less than two weeks. This auction will be the main fundraiser for the chapter this year, so it is critical we get out the word as much as possible and have everything in order. Members have been working hard to recruit sponsors and entertainers, send out invitations, prepare the print and web catalogs, and of course collect and frame all the prints we will be auctioning. I think we're all getting rather tired at this point. I know I have sent out a few e-mail messages that were probably worded a little too sharply. Hopefully everything will go well, and we will be able to raise a lot of money for scholarships and various chapter activities. I must confess, I am looking forward to getting my evenings back, though!
