"I learned not to interrupt." "Interactive participation encourages interest.." "How important it is to listen.""Developing interaction with others." These are responses to the question: "What was the most useful part of this workshop?" They were taken directly from the participants evaluation forms of the recent "Art of Effective Listening" seminar conducted by Valley members under the leadership of Connie and Jerry Kadansky at the Glendale Library. Organizer and facilitator Connie Kadansky, CTM, reported an attendance of approximately 30 people. "It was great," she said. "You could see they were a little hesitant when I mentioned we would have break-out sessions and group participation. but as they began actually talk and listen to each other---they had fun!" Valley members who assisted in facilitating breakout sessions were: Dave Hyde, Jackie Weaver, Kathleen Hartnett, and Una Smith. Two of the attendees expressed an interest in Valley Toastmasters. We will look forward to their visit. The success of the program has prompted Connie and Jerry
to consider offering the seminar to the other community
libraries in the Greater Phoenix Metro area.
Note from Jeane Clymer Jean Clymer, ATM, a five member of Valley who moved to Colorado Springs last year, dropped us a note to congratulate the club for its recent successes. She saw Valley's name in the last issue of The Toastmaster Magazine. Perfect Attendance for October |
