Occupation: Financial Planner. First job: Bus boy for Egadd’s Restaurant in Bettendorf, Iowa, at age 14. Favorite or worst job: Favorite job - existing profession. Worst - cutting one acre of grass using a small lawnmower. Almost became:An engineer. Career crossroads: 1993 - Getting laid off from a commercial property management company. I thought it would be my life profession. Wisest lesson learned: Never get into consumer debt! Hardest choice made: 9th grade - I had to choose between the high school golf team or soccer team. Chose soccer. Hobby: Golf, rollerblading, reading financial magazines, hiking, snow skiing. Easiest way for me to relax: Listen to Chopin’s classical piano music or Tony Bennett singing anything. Personal hero/heroine: Fiction hero - James Bond. Non-fiction - past Pres. Gen. Eisenhouwer. Working on: Improving my knowledge of my profession as it relates to estate planning. Movie I’ve been recommending lately: Toy Story, very funny. Movies I never want to see again: Leaving Las Vegas. Current reading: “Go Paris” and other Paris related travel books. Going to Paris in May ‘97. Most impressive book I’ve read: Any John Grishm book. Every New Year’s I resolve: Make a difference in the lives of my clients and friends. Most interesting personality: Newt Gingrich. |
Favorite childhood memory: Golfing at
the Rock Island Country Club and winning the Father/Son tournament with
my father in 1980.
One thing I can’t stand: Apathy of individuals - people who don’t care. People who knew me in school, thought I was: Intense, got along with most of my classmates (high school). Hard worker and dedicated college student. My friends like me because: I am thoughtful and entertaining. If I won the Lottery I would: Pay off mortgage and school loan and assist my family (mom, dad, sisters, brother). Worst memory: Dad going to the hospital after suffering a stroke when I was 13. My idea of paradise is: Anywhere you find peace. My neighbor is: Easy to talk to, very nice. A really great evening for me is: Nice dinner with Sue after a good classical concert or play. Moments of pride: Marriage (the ceremony) and when I received the keys to our new house. Most tense moment. When Sue crashed after only roller-skating for 30 yards and I thought she broke her hip and elbow. She was fine. Favorite pet? Any friendly dog. Aspirations/looking forward to: Going to London and Paris in May, 1997. My best talent: Being focused and accomplishing my goals. My favorite game is: Golf Little known fact: I love martinis.
