1997 Goals:
To keep you coming back
Encouraging regular attendance and
personal growth
Connie Kadansky, CTM, President

What keeps members coming back? That was my question to several people who have been Toastmasters for many years. The majority said it was the good friendships they have established over the years. Others said it was the positive atmosphere in the meetings. One gentleman said that one can never be “too good of a presenter.”

As President of Valley Toastmasters my personal goal is to keep our members coming back --- and they will when they feel their time is well spent and they have fun! One way, I believe, to influence regular meeting attendance is to make sure that each member gets to “say” something and participate at every meeting.

To support that objective and keep our members returning, our club goals for the next six months are:
Club Goals for Jan. 1-June 31, 1997:
  • 1. To gain seven new members. (We already have two! Welcome Lori Weldon and Mary Terrazas!)
  • 2. To conduct a seminar on "introductions." Effective introductions are extremely important to the overall value of our meetings, and can be used in the real world” on a daily basis.
  • 3. To retain 100% our current membership.
  • 4. To achieve an 80% weekly member attendance goal (24 members).
  • 5. To videotape table topics. Let's see what others see when we present! Do we scratch our noses, wring our hands or stand on one foot.
  • 6. To provide written evaluations for the Toastmaster of the day. Let's help each other increase our presentation awareness. Awareness brings about changes.
  • The goals set by the club each year have created a positive, supportive win/win atmosphere at Valley Toastmasters. It's a positive energy that keeps members coming back. Let’s continue supporting and encouraging attendance and personal growth for all Valley Toastmasters.

    Connie Kadansky, CTM, President
