More poems about Good Things

WHERE DO YOU LEAD
Where do you lead winding path through the trees
tall and strong?
Is there a friendly home with a white picket fence and
you hear a song?
Will it be by a lake where you can catch fresh fish
every day
And a country garden with food and flowers
on display?
Would a stranger be welcomed or told to carry on
or turn back?
Or do very few wander there and good company
do often lack?
Maybe it’s just a good fishing place where fish
constantly play
And you can get your limit as only a short time
you stay.
Could it be an old mining site long forgotten now
there’s no ore,
One day we will travel down that path and find out
for sure.
