The infantry

Here are three picture representing soldiers of la Compagnie franche de la Marine. A senior officer (left), a infantry cadet or future officer (left) and un common soldier (bottom). The junior officers (sergeants-majors, enseigns and leutenants) were wearing the same uniform as the senior officers (captains, aide-majors and majors) except for the fur on top of their tricorne. The cadets were noblemen learning the arts of war and waiting for a nomination as an officer.
