Okay, let's take this one step at a time. This page is designed mainly for people who've never heard about Wicca before and think it sounds neat (I mean, magic? Who wouldn't be interested?). C'mon, read all the essays. It's not work if no-one makes you do it.
Wicca and the Deities:
what this whole "Lord and Lady" thing is all about.
Wicca and Sexuality:
so what are all these rumors about orgies?
Wicca and People:
solitary? covener? what on earth are they talking about?
Wicca and Ethics:
why curses are a no-no, and other profound disappointments.
Wicca and Terms:
what makes a Witch different from a Wiccan?
Wicca and Christianity:
what if you like magic, but love Christ?
Wicca and Studying:
it may be a drag, but it's more than magical--it's necessary.
Wicca and Exploitation:
unfortunately, this is something to worry about. some people
are just scum.
Finally, go with what feels comfortable for you. Don't be afraid to blaze a new trail; don't feel that you have to stick to the book. Experiment, personalize.
Wicca is more than a religion. It's more than magic on weekends, more than mysticism and divination and the occult. It's a way of life. I am Wiccan; my beliefs carry over into my everyday life in the form of such things as my ethics code, the way I treat other people, and the way I treat the Earth. You can't be a Wiccan on weekends only and expect that it will be confined to that little piece of your life. It's not a cure-all. It's not supernatural help on math tests. And it most certainly is not lovespells for teenagers to make someone love them.
Wicca is a faith in God, in nature, in the world, and in yourself.
