Where I Live: Children will identify specific characteristics of their own neighborhood and share the information with their classmates. This activity will enable children to see that other neighborhoods can be different from their own, but also similar in many ways.

Make a Map: This activity will help students become familiar with maps as representations of real scenes and with map keys. Students will create a map and a map key, understand that a map shows the view from above, and use a map key to interpret symbols and locate places and objects on a map.
