Cool site - it's nice to see some names from the past and have an opportunity to get ahold of them. Keep up the good work! As far as advice - remember you are only hear for a small sliver of time. If you want to do something - do it. Don't let anyone tell you it can't be done or you would be wasting your time. You don't have enough of it available to look back and wonder " hat if."

Hey. We are in the computer lab for journalism. We are starting a school newspaper. It is called the TC Express. We like some of your articles, including "Say No to Twang". Well, your paper is a good example of a school newspaper. Keep up the groovy work. It's just nifty. Thanks. We're signing off. Oh- and by the way: Holly the news editor, and Audra is a news reporter. I was horribly shocked to read that your high school has BANNED John Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men. To hear that an American educational establishment could have the nerve to ban one of this country's greatest novels brings a tear to my eye to think that tomorrow's leaders will not have the necessary foundation of patrotism and love of reat literature. You communistic chicken-chasers up there in Iowa need to get your ignorant, rusted "minds" out of the seduction of censorship and try to enjoy the literature that made this country so wonderful. Until that glorious day, all of you should eel ashamed of yourselves for denying George, Lenny, Slim, Curly, Curly's wife, Candy, and all the other marvelous characters the chance to mold the minds of our youth into a lean, clean, logical-thinking machine. I implore all of you to grasp the full st pidity of your totalitarian censorship program. Wishing all the full necessary logical thinking patterns you will need while pondering your Neanderthal - like ignorance, A.J. Mirandas P.S. Please email me the progress in the situation at hand.

Note: GILBERT HAS NOT BANNED THE BOOKS MENTIONED ABOVE. The writer is referring to the Banned Book List on our front page. This list was published to raise Gilbert's awareness of censorship, but the list was compiled on a national level b the ALA and has no connection to our district. In our original post of the list we perhaps did not make it clear enough that the list represented the nation. This has been corrected. Sorry for any misunderstandings.

As requested, I have viewed the Gilbert Post; I have been asked to possibly serve as an informal adviser to the staff. I am flattered to be asked, and I will discuss the possibility with my administrator. I believe that there are real possibiliites here for students who really want to take on the challenge. I love the artwork, the sound bytes, and the creative writing that I have read. Keep up the great work! Mrs. G.

I think it's great that Gilbert has a web page! Juno offers free e-mail addresses, but aol gives you FIVE family connections for one low price. I pay $17 unlimited time and Maureen, Margaret (catsisfun) and their dad (Morrie) have their own addresses and passwords FREE. And wherever we go we just dia the local aol access # and were online. Nothing could be easier.
