Report on Inaugural Meeting of O.B.O.D's

PAN Home

The inaugural assembly of the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids was held on the weekend of the Spring Equinox, at a property just west of Sydney. Approximately 25 members and their partners from Australia and NZ attended. The Festival of the Light of the Earth was a time of initiation, a meeting of people with similar goals, especially for the earth, and of hopes and plannings for our future. Discussions were begun for the visit of the Orders Chief, Philip Carr-Gomm at Alban Elder 1998. It is planned that Philip will give a talk, open to the public, on Druidry, its role in the world today, and the ideals of the Order. The Australian and NZ members are funding Philip's trip from England. The small charge for his talk, the raffle of some books written and signed by Philip are part of the fundraising. Notice of these fundraisers will be in future newsletters.
