Beltane 1999 Newsletter Event Review: Men's Gathering Held over the weekend of the 16th and 17th of October Minto Bush Camp

Just a brief note to all those who didn't make it to the men's weekend in Sydney last weekend - you missed out! It was a cosy gathering of 10 men at the superb bushland retreat of Minto Bush Camp on the edge of Sydney. Fun was had by all as personal shields came down, knowledge and experiences were shared, and a variety of men's issues were brought up.

Mick's talk on the life cycle got a lot of discussion happening as we remembered the issues we experienced at different stages in our lives. The most fun was had with Justin's 'meatgrinder' - a battle using foam weapons - swords, axes, warhammers. At a quieter level, it was a great learning experience as experiences were shared in the 'storytelling'. But overall, the best thing about the weekend was getting to know other males without the distraction of women, and without the walls/front that we often put out to others. I am really looking forward to the next one!!
