Bardic book of wisdom
A Collection of Traditional Irish Verse
|
|
Edited by Chrys King with an introduction by Caiseal Mor, this book is
a collection of Irish poetry as well as some original offerings from
Chrys. The book is a collection of sayings, teachings, laws, humour and
wisdom, with each page offering its own insights.
The book offers verses for kings who should be trained in Druidic
arts, and the verses chosen come from the "Book of Instructions from a
King" by Cormac MacAirt. Cormac instructs his son in the kingly Druidic
traditions. Verses are selected that look at rebirth, the Druidic triads,
the Brehon Laws of the 7th century and there is even a section on
drinking! There is a mead recipe included, but not without the caveat:
"Make sure you are always sober enough to know when you are drunk".
There is also some beautiful Celtic artwork throughout this
publication. Copies can be obtained by writing to Chrys.
Chrys is available to perform at festivals, handfastings, functions
etc, Australia wide. Chris also gives tuition in playing the Celtic harp,
as well as selling these beautiful instruments.
