Firstly, welcome to all of our new members that have joined us since
Samhain. I hope that your membership with us puts you in touch with
what's happening in the Pagan community, gives you information and
support and helps you as you travel along your chosen path.
Secondly, my apologies that this newsletter reaches you just after
the Solstice, I have been laid low with the winter cold that seems to
be doing the rounds. But, fingers crossed, every thing should be back
on schedule shortly.
Winter has finally found its way to Sydney, giving us cold nights,
frosty mornings and beautiful winter sunsets. The apricot tree in our
backyard has dropped most of its leaves, and now stands bare. The
wisteria has been a bit slower, as it gets more sun, but has started on
its winter shed of leaves. The Begonia is loving the cold weather and
has produced a flurry of big green leaves. At work, the liquid amber's
leaves are falling and are being dutifully raked up by the groundspeople.
I find great delight in walking through and dancing in these huge piles
of leaves. The crunch that comes reminds me that the suppleness of youth
soon gives way to the dust of old age. I remember now why this is one
of my favourite times of year.
The newsletter this month has quite a few administrative details in
it. Please take the time to read the reports on enquiry numbers, and
survey data and NSW direction. If you have any questions or comments
on these, please give me a ring or drop me a line. I'd be happy to
discuss any aspects of these reports. The 1997/1998 financial report
will be in the next newsletter.
The newsletters special feature this season is "The hunt". Once
again we are privileged to have a drawing from Colin, who expresses
so well the theme of the newsletter. The Hunt is a controversial idea,
and I would love to get your feedback for inclusion in the next
newsletter about how you feel about the articles, or hunting in general.
Next season, something a little less controversial!
What's happening in your backyard, or on your balcony this month?
Blessed Be
Adrianne Harris
