Six things you can do...
to help conserve our native biodiversity
|
|
- Plant local native species in and around your garden, with plenty
of undergrowth plants.
- When tidying up in the garden, dispose of plant material in your
compost pile.
- Practice organic pest control in the garden rather than use
pesticides.
- Keep your pets in at night, and put several bells on your cat’s
collar. This will make it easier for our native animals to protect
themselves.
- Remember that the things you put down your drain will end up in
our waterways. One litre of oil can contaminate nine million litres of
water.
- When exploring the bush, always leave rocks and logs as you found
them. Walk around rather than across fragile areas like swamps.
