Six things you can do...

to help conserve our native biodiversity

PAN Home
  1. Plant local native species in and around your garden, with plenty of undergrowth plants.
  2. When tidying up in the garden, dispose of plant material in your compost pile.
  3. Practice organic pest control in the garden rather than use pesticides.
  4. Keep your pets in at night, and put several bells on your cat’s collar. This will make it easier for our native animals to protect themselves.
  5. Remember that the things you put down your drain will end up in our waterways. One litre of oil can contaminate nine million litres of water.
  6. When exploring the bush, always leave rocks and logs as you found them. Walk around rather than across fragile areas like swamps.
