Dedicated to Jewish-Christian dialogue
From 1998 to 1999, I had the privilege of being part of
a Jewish studies program for Catholic educators.  The aim
of this program, funded by the Connelly Foundation and coordinated
by Villanova University in conjunction with professors from
Gratz College, was to instruct Catholics working in the field of
education in the basics of Jewish theology and history,
the relationship between Christianity and Judaism, and
the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.  It is perhaps
more accurate, however, to say that this instruction was
the
means, for the real aim of the program was to
engender in Catholic educators not only knowledge,
but the sort of expreiential understanding which seeks
to reach beyond itself to find expression in action.
This web-site is my attempt at such an expression,
and it is my hope that it will be used by both Catholics
and Jews as a resource for learning,
a tool for understanding, a place for meeting,
a point of reconciliation.
