More poems about Life is like that

YOU KNOW YOU ARE GETTING OLD
You know you are getting old when traveling on public transit
The young folks stand up and politely ask you to please sit,
It is still good to know that people show that they really care
By not letting old folks stand on the bus hanging in there.

It does not seem that long ago that I would stand and let sit
Those who seemed long in the tooth, I did not mine one bit,
And I remember, with the nod of thanks, a funny little glance
Wondering if they looked old or I just knew that by chance.

Although I am looking older, well I am getting that way,
I do not really mind if on the bus standing I have to stay,
But I wish that I looked younger although the seat is nice
I’d prefer to look young and sway and stand in a trice.
