KALEIDOSCOPE FASCINATION
Have you ever looked into a kaleidoscope and seen,
Because of mirrors, bits of glass or paper and been
Intrigued by all the beauty that shows as you twist
Or shake, even the slightest movement of the wrist
Brings another pattern ever prettier that the last,
A myriad of designs in precious moments go past.
Ideas for wall paper repeated in perfect symmetry,
Some gentle, others bold, imagination starting to run free,
You are reluctant to pass on and show a pattern just in case
The kaleidoscope does not return to its rightful place.
Every home should have one, so when a time maybe sad
You can gaze at perfection and make the heart glad.
Mine is old and rather battered and worn from much use,
In fact I had it as a child and it took a real deal of abuse,
Passed all around, if granny had it that was it for the day,
Her sharp eyes bright and smiling with her it did stay
Until at last shed go to bed and my toy I would hide
In some place, but she would hunt for it far and wide.
When the weather is drab and things go all wrong
Put on some quiet music and listen to some sweet song
While into the kaleidoscope you look and slowly heal
As the patterns dance and change, never alike, you feel
Things could be worse, but soon will much better be
As you leave worries behind by using kaleidoscopy
