LOST IN SINS DARK CAVERN
I was so very lost in sins dark cavern,
Far away from the light of the world,
A darkness deeper than any dungeon
Where wickedness was being hurled,
Seeming to block every step to the light,
I was evil right through, no good at all,
No chance for me to ever choose the right,
But someone cared and my name did call.
It was like a glimmer that I had known before,
Out of the darkness hope gleamed quite bright,
No longer in the grasp of evil bound forevermore,
A kind friend was showing me a much higher sight
Than the dungeons of evil and the presence of sin,
Led me along the path that I should now follow
To the true door of the gospel and so be let in,
Turning my empty heart to joy from a pitiful sorrow.
So when you see someone, dont think they are lost,
For we are all Gods children and all we need is light,
Remember Jesus, how He suffered at what great cost,
He died for all so they may see us shining bright,
And glory in the Gospel and so share eternal life
With those around you who may have gone astray,
And just a kind friend to help them in their strife,
Gently lead them back to the straight and narrow way.
