More poems about Strong Feelings

        Who Shall God Join Together
I do not want to judge for that would be wrong,
Nor do I wish to condemn, be part of a cruel throng,
For we all have faults and failings, all of us fall short
Of perfection and to love all I was always taught.

Any person I would help, give willingly to those in need,
The poor and the hungry try my best to clothe and feed,
Not ask any silly questions just share what little is mine,
Live the best I can try and follow my Master divine.

But when two men or two women that do say “I do”
In legal matrimony, indignation fills me right through,
A man and woman’s hand held in tender loving care
Fills we with joy as their promises they willingly share.

This promise will help bring children to a loving home,
It takes male and female to make children and if they roam
There is a mom and dad to guide them show them the way,
A healthy union hoping together they will always stay.

I know divorce can shatter a home, there is hurt and pain,
But there are still two parents to help them heal again,
God’s way is the right way, the way this country should go,
True, honest courage and understanding for the law to show.

Come, stop and read of Sodom and Gomorrah years ago,
Canada is the best place to live now, wherever you may go,
Let us keep it that way, but if same sex marriage becomes law,
Our great country will crumble and fall, all nations will us deplore.
