        LOVELY CANDLES
On a counter in the market the other day
I saw some carved candles on display,
Like intricate carved pillars of grace,
The sight put a smile on every face.

Many colours were seen there glowing,
For a lighted candle inside was showing,
While the waxed beauty stayed the same
To give some warmth and light was it’s aim.

The candle reminded me of how I must shine,
A hidden candle in me, a little of a light divine,
Showing the way with warmth and beauty,
Still standing strong while doing my duty.

The lovely candles were expensive to buy,
But I gaze at them with a happy sigh
As I pass them by, watch the inner flame,
Reminding how to play life’s sweet game.
