READING THE CHRISTMAS CARDS
As we take down the cards from the strings on the wall,
it is good to read them all over again and so recall
all the love and good wishes inside each pretty card,
and for me to part with any of them is very hard,
As I read them over loved ones faces come to mind,
so they will stay in a draw so they are easy to find,
later on in the year those cards Ill read once more,
and remember when they came through the door.
The pictures as so pretty, the verses touch my heart,
the thoughts of friends and loved ones are a part
of each picture chosen and sent to us with care,
to throw them in the garbage would not be fair.
You can call me a packrat if you like as cards I store,
they can join the others that Ive stored away before,
this year they seem more lovely than others Ive had,
it is hard to chose a favorite of that I am very glad.
