THE HUMAN RACE
Are we truly worthy to be part of the human race,
Or would four legged creatures have less disgrace?
Do we take the word race too literally, do anything
To win, by shoving and pushing and cruelly fling
Others aside, racing to earn as extra buck or two,
Think riches and power is what will win through.
But the human race should not be like that at all,
We should be there for others when they call.
Humans are created in the image of our God above,
So should we not through our lives be full of His love?
Are we really human, with traits of deity deep inside,
Or will we one day be ashamed of the race and hide.
Most animals can be trained to be good, wise and kind,
How far will the human race, as we live now, be behind.
Surely we have the sense to stop and think before we act,
So humanity shines through, always live with love and tact.
