SPECIAL MOMENTS
When walking through a park one day
With manicured lawns and an array
Of brilliant flowers tidy and neat,
With many a painted garden seat,
I saw a dandelion hidden in the grass,
Not all noticed it as they did pass.

In all that trim neatness it was to me
Like finding a sight of serendipity,
Something not expected in a garden fair,
Yet it added a touch of humanity there,
In a perfect park one dandelion did grow,
Looking at the sun, it’s sweet face to show.

Then in a garden overgrown with weeds
A tangled mass where many birds can feed,
I saw a red rose struggling hard to survive,
An unexpected treasure sweet that did thrive
Against all odds, a serendipitous gift for me
Something in my heart was set quite free.

In a drab street serendipity called once more,
An unexpected kindness shown, not sought for,
Two hungry men sharing what little they had,
Neither face showed any anger or seemed sad,
I gave them some change and my lunch as well,
Such an agreeable within me did grow and swell.

Serendipity may be a sunset after a terrible day,
Seeing children laughing as they merrily play,
Lots of hidden treasures you do not hope to find
But are there right before you as a gift so kind,
If you seek it them then the magic fades away,
Grasp and remember them if they happen today,
