MARRY ME
Soon it will be the twenty ninth of February,
If I remember something old and customary,
That the young woman may ask her lover true
To marry her, and I wonder just how many do?
I asked you, but you had already asked me first,
I could have asked anyway or Id have burst,
Now after so many years or much joy and pain,
If I ask now, would you still say, yes again.
I would say yes in a minute for my love is still strong,
My heart constantly rejoices, sings a sweet love song,
I hope I have been worthy of the love we both share,
That if I beg your hand again the answer would be fair.
On Sunday I will hold your hand, look into your eyes
And ponder on our great love, such a wonderful prize,
On bended knee Id ask sweetly if youd still marry me,
For my darling I want you in my life for all eternity.
