GOOD TIDINGS
Words of an angel who came from heaven above,
Good tidings of great joy, given to all with love,
Can we really comprehend the value or its worth,
The Saviour and Redeemer for all men on earth.
If He had not come to earth on that wondrous day,
No sins forgiven, no resurrection ever come our way,
Just bound in death and misery never more be free,
Wicked Satan in total control of everyones destiny.
No wonder angels sang and rejoiced with loud acclaim,
His miraculous birth would relieve us of death and pain,
I wonder if I sang with the angels on that special night
When into the world was born the source of truth and light.
If there were no gifts, no tinsel or pretty garlands on the tree,
If there was no special food, not even be able to live worry free,
Nowhere to play Christmas music, or see each special show,
I would still celebrate Christmas and with gratitude glow.
Let us rejoice in the glorious knowledge, that He came to earth,
The Saviour, Christ the Lord, a proclamation of great worth,
With every lighted candles glow or pretty lights on our tree,
Think of Jesus from His humble birth through to cruel Calvary.
