AS WE AWAKE
As we awake each morning are we ready for a new day,
Be willing to listen to that still small voice and obey,
Ready with a happy smile, a helping hand want to lend,
Not to grumble no matter what the day to us may send?
Are our prayers each morning meaningless and trite,
Not thinking about prayer, our mind already out of sight,
Thinking of other things as we kneel to supposedly pray,
Is it so hard, our thoughts on God and Jesus, awhile to stay?
Have you ever held a conversation and the person not care,
Stares out of the window shows they dont want to be there?
That is how heaven must feel if we just kneel down to pray,
With no thanks or heartfelt message bother to come its way?
Think each morning when first awake of the blessings of each day,
Then it should not be too hard to stop and kneel and earnestly pray
To our Father in heaven, with grateful heart and true love show
Before pressing forward through the day as heavenward you go
