CHANGE OF PACE
Sometimes I think it would be nice to have a slower pace,
Just for a little time get out of this life’s fast, hectic pace,
It seems, since we’ve retired, things are worse than before,
There’s always so much to do, of time we need much more.

We really don’t know how for work we ever had time,
Still up early and on the go, to shirk would be a crime,
I think we have slowed down a little, but still rush around,
Still always on the go, wishing more time could be found.

I thought when we retired we might have a quiet kind of life,
Free from being busy, free from worry, work and from strife,
Thinking about it, I’m sure we’ll be busy until the day we die,
I know we will both wear out and not just lazily about lie.
