OVERCOME EVIL
It is strange how things are as we go through life,
It is not the big happenings that cause us much strife,
We can often cope with those things that come our way,
It’s the little niggley things that cause us to go astray.

We can hold onto the light when the storm rages strong,
Pray and struggle onward, sing some helpful hymn or song,
Stalwart and brave when Satan throws temptations our way,
Then he realizes that way is wrong he’ll be sneaky next day.

Then small things come to annoy he tries to make you mad,
Puts ideas in your head that you should go around all sad,
Wants you to blame the Lord for the pickle that you are in,
Whispers so softly that these small thoughts are not a sin.

Don’t let him win, continue to fight evil along life’s way,
There is no way he can win if every morning you quietly say,
‘Get thee behind me Satan I am aware of your wicked plan’
Satan is then bound, Let him try to get you as hard as he can.

He cannot win if you don’t let him, for God is on our side,
The strength of his wicked legions will run away and hide,
As you stand strong and do conquer all evil and cruel sin,
Dare to be a Daniel and every battle you will one day win.
