CHRISTMAS EXCITEMENT
Can you feel the Christmas excitement as
you hurry down the street,
Look at folks and smile and with a
friendly wave greet,
Listen to that special music that seems
to warm the air,
That feeling of expectation that floats
around every where.
I sat muffled up watching as people
hurried on past
Sheltered a little by a wall from the
winds icy blast.
I looked into faces especially those with
sparkling eyes,
As if in each bag they had they held a
special prize.
The old, the young and many in between
wandered past me,
All happy they seemed to be of worries
completely free.
Maybe it was just Christmas or my own
optimistic view,
That made the feeling of Christmas fill me
with joy anew.
