DO WE RATIONALIZE
Sometimes we may rationalize and commit a little sin,
Thinking just once or twice will not dim my light within,
That is clouded vision, does not come from heaven above,
For God will guide us the right way with unending love.

We may say it does not matter if we miss a prayer or two,
Too busy in the morning with all we have to get through,
We rationalize by saying that God will always understand,
He will not forsake us, there if needed to lend a helping hand.

Yet if we do not even bother to stop to pray to Him each day,
Although He remains constant it’s we who have turned away,
We cannot rationalize Him back to our side, we have to turn,
Look once more to the light, and never for Him cease to yearn.

Go to church then rationalize that we can shop and have fun,
Go to a sports activity, thinking our duty we have wisely done,
It is Satan who helps us rationalize with half truths us to blind,
Please stop and put Satan’s deceiving rationalization far behind.
