        HOODED EYES
When one sees the world with hooded eyes,
Squinting, not seeing clearly, so never realize
The goodness and beauty that around us all lie,
Just grumble, let sweetness pass you right by.

When ones sees other folks with hooded eyes,
Blotting out the truth you may come to a demise,
Missing the true good nature of ones fellow men,
Maybe become entrapped locked in an evil den.

When one seeks for God with hooded eyes,
That soul may never be able to grasp the prize
That comes with open-mindedness longing to see
Life as better as you seek all that can set you free.

Open your eyes to beauty, open them to see mankind,
Open them wide as you seek God and you will find
A pathway filled with loveliness, compassion and care
Remove the blinkers from your eyes, see that which is fair.
