LOGGING TRUCKS
Logging trucks north-bound, what does this mean I wonder,
And over in my mind this question I did seriously ponder.
To see them passing so close both going in different directions
Made me stop and think and ask, would there be any objections
If they both delivered logs close where they were felled and grew?
Think of the expense saved, it sounds good to me, does it to you?
Is it hard wood going north and softwood going to the south
I feel I should ask around, why the waste! Open my big mouth,
I am not a great financier or a trader at all of any type or kind,
Just a housewife who was taught common sense and logic find.
Maybe there is a good reason for the apparent stupidity that I see
For all the same great trees grow all over our wonderful country,
I must admit we need wood for the things we for living every day,
Yet deep in my heart it feels all wrong to treat the trees that way.
