CHRISTMAS THOUGHTS WHEN OLDER
Now I am getting older Christmas means much
more to me ,
The look on childrens faces as their bright eyes dance
with glee.
The dressing of the Christmas tree maybe earlier
than before
And making fresh wreaths for both the front
and back door.
Having a meal by candle light giving off a soft
warm glow
And hearing the sweet carols sung nearly
everywhere you go.
Santa in the stores and malls right up until
Christmas eve,
Once again, child-like, live in a world of pure
make-believe.
Laying out all the figures of that wonderful
Holy Family,
With shepherds and wise men and animals
for all to see,
Trying to work out a bright light for the
shining star,
Mouse herald angels in heaven singing
sweetly from afar.
Maybe it is because your Christmases now
could be few,
So when getting older enjoy Christmas and all
that you do.
