        CHRISTMAS LIGHTS
Christmas lights and Christmas trees,
Frosty air coming on the winter breeze,
The smell of food cooked with care,
All hoping that the family will be there.

A brilliant sun and the snow so white
Children abed early on Christmas night,
The pile of gifts wrapped under the tree,
All that is now needed is all the family.

The big turkey smells so wonderful,
The pantry shelves and sides too full,
The sounds of happy people all around,
We hope that all the family will be found.

But if perchance they are too far away
To be with you on that very special day,
Prayers and thoughts will waft over miles,
So in thought we share in with their smiles.
