        HEALING LAVENDER
I was thinking last night as I lay resting in bed,
That lavender has healing power, or so it is said,
A lot of elderly ladies I used to know as a small child
Seemed to have the fragrance of lavender so mild.

Not my granny she was old fashioned and very plain
In what she wore and smelt of carbolic soap, quite a pain.
Other friends and my mother sweet lavender wafted the air,
There was such a big difference it was beyond compare.

All my life I liked lavender’s aroma inside and out
And when it shows in the garden with joy a shout,
And a gift of any kind that has a lavender perfume
Is of great worth to me and I sing a happy tune.

Well at Christmas I received some slippers inserts
That were of lavender and that is as good as it gets,
For you heat them up then the scent fills the air,
And you feet seem to sail on clouds without a care.

I had a sore neck and those insets healed the pain
And much comfort did my whole body seem to gain,
At my feet last night as I lay in bed that lavender there
Filled me with soothing and contentment was everywhere.
