A PIECE OF MUSIC
When you hear a piece of music
And it stirs you to the very soul
You seem to be more vibrant, more alive,
You’ll have more awareness, more whole.
It flows like a river of tranquillity,
Sooth’s and quiets a troubled mind
Like David’s harp it conquers sin,
Such a pleasing feeling is hard to find.
Yet men have written with inspiration
Simple sounds that touch and heal
Simple sounds that quell hate and doubt
Simple sounds that you can feel.
Like kind hands soothing away pain.
When they wrote their sweet music true,
Did they think for hundreds of years
It would be pleasing, still played through ?
Soothing heart ache, calming a troubled mind.
Give many true joy, maybe empty lives to fill,
So let music enhance your life let it be fed,
Especially when you are down and feeling ill.
