SONNET NO 21 DEATH
Can we within our troubled human heart
State with a conviction sure, true and strong,
Without doubt, and in sweet melodic song,
Death where is thy bitter sting, and in part
Feel the true joy within our timid heart,
Knowing that we in our faith are not wrong,
And then will soon join the great joyful throng
Beyond human life, and find a new chart,
New hope, new beginnings, life without pain,
Life full of love and joy, hope is so bright
Some have had a glimpse and seen a great light,
So should we not strive, light and heaven to gain?
There’s a bright light that in all good men show,
For me there’s no fear, when he calls, I’ll go.
