From days gone by, right up to now,
Music can heal the soul somehow.
When King Saul was in deep despair,
He asked David to play some simple air
To soothe his disconcerted mind,
And in music did sweet solace find.
Now when some hurt engulfs me,
When peace from my soul does flee,
There is in the mighty realm of sound
Some sweet song or tune to be found
To heal me, bringing joy to my life,
Dim the ache of trouble and strife.
A melody wafting on evening breeze
Is like a touch of magic, rest and ease
Touch each one in a different way
As the melody will twist and sway
Touching upon the heart of man,
Healing better than medicine can.
So listen to some soothing melody
That can cover you in a canopy
Of pure and wondrous sound
That calms, wounds are bound,
Sorrows dimmed, pain eased,
Make an empty heart pleased.
Play on music, healer of the soul,
Play musicians, make healing your goal,
Feel the music heal you as you play,
For I know of no better healing way
Than the healing notes of music fair,
Even healing the nights refreshing air.
