LABOUR IN VAIN
Months of early morning sickness
And of discomfort and stiffness,
Lively kicking waking you at night,
Laying restless, waiting for the light.

Names chosen waiting for the day
When the child will come our way,
Welcome labour pains starts the joy
Of the coming of the long awaited boy.

The silence in the room, no little cry,
Every one quiet tears in each eye,
Questioning I look, holding my breath,
Then they give me only a bundle of death.
