A LULLABY
Do not be afraid of the wind my little one,
Its howling cannot harm you or anyone,
It can lull you to sleep as it sings its song
And all the trees and flowers dance along,
Safe and snug in your cradle you quietly lie,
As the wind in some great hurry rushes by,
Rest through the night, little treasure of love,
Let thy guardian angel come down from above.
Can you hear the rain tip-tapping at our windows?
Can you see the large trees with their large shadows?
All outside, while we are tucked cozy and warm inside,
We are all safe and secure from this our world so wide.
Sleep my little one, let the wind be a lullaby as you rest,
Tonight well not be able to watch the sun sink in the west,
Remember I showed you last night the dying rays of the sun
And told you, thats how God makes the night time come?
Sleep in peace, let no fear fill thy tiny mind this night,
Although we will not see the stars or moon so bright,
But morning will come with the suns golden rays,
And Ill hold you close again and His name praise.
Sleep little treasure this whole night through,
And I will watch and wait, be close by you,
Sleep and remember from where you just came,
Think of Jesus, when you grow, remember His name.
