PRETTY YELLOW DRESS
Out little daughter Becky loved wearing pretty dresses,
Yellow her favourite colour went well with dark tresses,
Her hair was just a little wavy, not tight curls at all,
Even at four her long dark hair in waves did gently fall.
She had been invited to a party by the boy next door,
Her very best yellow dress and white shoes she wore,
She whizzed around when she was ready to go there,
Her brown eyes were sparkling, the gift gave her flair.
Her sister told her she was beautiful as out she went,
Skipping down the path, safely next door she was sent.
There was an old lady passing the gate, what a pretty child
She said, Becky thanked her, but Im beautiful she smiled.
We laughed, the old lady had to agree that it was beauty,
With big brown eyes that flashed and a happy smile to see,
Now the years have passed no yellow dress will she wear
But the flashing brown eyes and lovely smile are still there.
