A PLAN
When the children were all small we always had a plan laid out,
That if we became separated in each mind there would be no doubt,
A gathering place was chosen where all of us would get to meet,
So no one would ever feel alone but go where their loved theyd greet.
We wondered if they took notice of the plan to keep all safe and sound.
Well one day we realized it worked, as a place by all was found.
In the rush of sub-way trains, people hurrying in throngs everywhere,
To keep us together was quite impossible even with great care.
Holding hands with children was not possible in that rushing throng,
Little people can soon easily get carried quickly along.
Go to the big clock that hangs on the big long coloured wall,
Wait there until we are safely gathered for our roll call.
The plan should work, its easier than seeking children in a crowd,
Its just the littlest one, will he make us all happy and proud?
His hand had slipped from mine, oh, how my heart did break,
Trust in the plan and the children, then my heart will not ache.
One by one by the wall under the clock we all safely came.
The youngest on the shoulders of a policeman, he felt of great fame
As he pointed to the eager family all there eagerly waiting.
Family Home Evening can be very useful as well as entertaining.
