WAITING FOR THE BUS
Waiting at the bus stop a stranger could become your good friend,
It may start with a nod and a smile, no knowing where it may end,
Next, talk about the weather or last night’s important game,
Two lonely hearts find company and so may never be the same.
Waiting at the bus stop you may never know what a smile will do,
It could lift a sad and breaking heart, help them pull through.
If the bus is late don’t grumble, give no angry, hostile glare,
When you alight the bus say thanks to the driver and see him stare.
It does not take much to turn a frown into a happy smile,
People will look forward to seeing you in a little while,
It takes a lot less effort to smile and so make folks glad,
For when you pout and frown everyone seems so sad.
Next time you go to the bus stop and you have to wait,
Don’t be shy, start chatting and you may find a new mate,
Pals at the bus stop in the rain, snow or sunshine,
If you start the day well I bet the rest will be just fine.
