ARENA WALKING
An activity that’s popular with Flin Flon folk,
That is arena walking, don’t laugh it’s no joke,
As long as there’s no hockey, folks walk around
At many different speeds, with many ages found.

The air is quite cold it’s not heated now you see,
But at least it’s open you can go fast as can be,
Nine times round they tell us makes it a mile,
You get to recognize some, give them a smile.

It is much better than walking on the ice and snow,
It is surprising just how much faster go can go.
Some trot, some jog, even have a fast run around,
Some walk fast, others slow, patients too are found.

Don’t know who’s idea it was to give this service free,
But it is well used and it is great fun to as many can see,
Some go around one way some go the other and twice meet
Always with a smile or nod or even with a word do greet.

It’s a good way to keep fit, walking all safe and sound,
I wish in more town and cities places could be found
For many folks to walk when it’s much to cold outside
To safely walk or jog without many a fall, slip or slide.

We also meet more people, get to chat and say hello,
Making many more friends is the right way to go,
To tell people know that you do really, truly care,
And you know, you miss them if they are not there.
